Menlo-Atherton grad Ty Finley drove in the game's only run with a single in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting the Oaks to a 1-0 victory over visiting Oregon Tech in a nonconference baseball game Saturday.
The second game was tied at 6-6 before being suspended because of darkness after nine innings. It will be resumed Sunday at noon.
Chris Mazza led off the seventh with a single. One out later, Will Pierce was hit by a pitch and Coleman Cox singled to load the bases.
"I thought Coleman Cox's single to right was going to win the game, so I was just trying to pick him up," Finley said. "Today our team was pretty relaxed so when I came up to the plate I didn't feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. I was able to sit back and drive it hard."
Derek Martinez (3-2) threw his second straight shutout. "I was putting everything into every pitch," he said.
