The Priory girls’ soccer team remained in third place, just three points out of first, following a 6-0 romp over visiting King’s Academy in a West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) match on Thursday. The Panthers (3-1-1, 8-2-3) didn’t waste any time getting on the scoreboard as sophomore Mariana Galvan scored the first of her three goals with only one minute expired following a back-heel pass from sophomore Sarah Zuckerman.

In the seventh minute, Darrah Shields crossed the ball into the six-yard box and hit Eugenia Jernick, who deflected it in to the cage for a 2-0 lead. Soon after, in the 10th minute, a corner kick by Shields was headed in by junior Molly Simpson. Priory scored again in the 41st minute on a goal by senior Alex Schnabel, assisted by a through ball by Shields. In the 60th minute, Zuckerman was fouled on a corner kick with Shields converting the PK for her sixth goal in the past four matches. Simpson converted another PK in the 68th minute after freshman Lexi Garrity was fouled in the box.
