Getting a goal from senior Abby Dahlkemper with under eight minutes to play, the Sacred Heart Prep girls' soccer team held on for a 2-1 victory over visiting Priory in a key West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) match on Tuesday. With Dahlkemper scoring both goals, the Gators (4-0, 8-4-2) increased their division lead over the Panthers (2-1-1, 7-2-3) following the first meeting between the rivals this season. Dahlkemper scored in the first seven minutes but Priory countered less than four minutes later when Darrah Shields found the net off an assist from Mariana Galvan. The teams battled evenly after that, before SHP made a push in the second half. A shot by Dahlkemper late in the match went off the hands of Priory keeper Liz Oliphant, resulting in a corner kick. Sophia Abuel-Saud placed the ball in front of the cage as Dahlkemper raced in and headed it past Oliphant for the deciding goal.
