Gunn boys win basketball opener; Gunn girls win soccer opener

Ethan Kitch scored 14 points and the Gunn boys basketball team beat visiting Design Tech 76-30 in a non-league opener Tuesday.

Rogan Gibbons added 12 points as the Titans scored 34 points in the second quarter to take control of the contest. Max Luo scored 11 points and Jake Hakeman had 10.

Gunn plays at home on Saturday against San Jose at 6 pm.

Girls soccer

Isabella Hellman scored three goals and Gunn beat San Jose 6-0 in a non-league contest Tuesday.

Palo Alto won the Mission 831 Shootout, beating Aptos 59-42 in Tuesday’s championship. The Vikings (2-0) beat host Monte Vista Christian 69-21 on Monday.
