Senior Ethan Brooks placed second, one of four Woodside runners to finish among the top eight, helping the Wildcats win the Peninsula Athletic League boys cross country title Saturday at Crystal Springs.

Junior Katie Lorenz finished second and Menlo-Atherton had five runners among the top eight to win the PAL girls title. Woodside’s Elle Marsyla won the individual title.

Woodside scored 39 points in the boys race. Sequoia was second with 84, followed by M-A with 126.

The M-A girls won with 22 points, with Aragon second (119) and Woodside third (133). Sequoia placed 12th with 282 points.

Carlmont’s Aidan Dimick won the boys race with a time of 15:05.7. Brooks followed in 15:47.0. M-A’s Aidan Doherty was fourth in 16:20.3, followed by Woodside’s Maximilian Hohendorf in 16:21.6 and Nayan Smuek in 16:26.2.

Sequoia’s Jackson Bae ran seventh with a time of 16:31.0 and Woodside’s Hans Buhr was eighth in 16:32.0. M-A’s Rowan Pecson ran 10th in the 106-runner field. Sequoia’s Zacharie Vidana was the top freshman, placing 27th overall with a time of 17:33.9.

Marsyla raced 18:02.7 to win the girls race. Lorenz was timed in 18:21.4. She was followed, in order, by Tatum Olesen (18:29.9), Sofia Melani (18:38.8) and Annie Pflaum (18:41.8).

Senior Katriona Briggs placed eighth in a time of 19:35.0 and senior Madeleine Boyle ran 20:07.2 in placing 12th. Mira Goodwin placed 26th in 21:13.0 as Sequoia’s top runner.

Woodside, Menlo-Atherton and Sequoia return to Crystal Springs for the Central Coast Section championships on Saturday.
