The Palo Alto Art Center opens its three fall exhibitions on Saturday (Sept. 25) at 1313 Newell Road in Palo Alto. The free shows are: “In Focus: Collecting Photography,” with pieces from four Bay Area photo collections; “Light from the Underground,” a Colette Campbell-Jones photo essay about mining in South Wales; and “Paintings from Haiti,” from the collection of Ralph S. On Sunday (Sept. 26), Douglas L. Graham speaks at a free public meeting of the Palo Alto Historical Association on “Fine Dining and Burgers: El Camino’s Restaurant Row, 1930-1980.” Audience members are encouraged to share recollections and memorabilia at the event, which takes place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Lucie Stern Community Center, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.
