Menlo College’s Edin Ibrahimovic was named Golden State Athletic Conference Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year on Thursday, one of three Oaks named all-GSAC.
Chase Direito and Lucas Larson, named co-Freshman of the Year, joined Ibrahimovic and Todd Hollenbeck was tabbed Coach of the Year.
Menlo won its first 17 matches before losing to Division I Grand Canyon and was 12-0 in GSAC play when the season ended due to the coronavirus as all remaining athletic competition was cancelled.
Direito, a middle blocker, recorded 117 kills and 47 total blocks. On the outside, Ibrahimovic finished with 315 kills, 35 total blocks and 18 service aces. Setting his teammates up on a regular basis, Larson distributed 582 assists.
The Oaks, who finished the season ranked third, did not have a senior on the roster and will be looking forward to a chance at the national title in the future.

I had quite a few refereeing assignments for the Menlo men's team this season, and am thrilled to see Edin, Chase and Lucas earn these honors. They played terrific volleyball every time I saw them, and were good sports too. GSAC is a tough league and the competition was fierce and well-coached. Congrats to the Menlo program!
