Use Fry's site for housing

Editor:

I urge the City Council to keep the Fry's site as zoned for low-income residential. Why?

1. We have a serious housing crisis.

2. We desperately need low-income housing for our service sector workers, seniors.

3. This site is one of the few remaining parcels the council has control over.

4. Sobrato has/is building low-income housing in Oakland.

Be courageous: Keep the zone residential and promote a renter's remedy as we seek funds for low-income houses for our workers.
