A round-up of Palo Alto government action this week

City Council (May 15)

Cubberley: The council discussed the process for negotiating with the Palo Alto Unified School District to expand the city's share of Cubberley Community Center. Action: None

Legislation: The council voted to take a position on various pending bills, including unanimous votes to submit letters of support for AB 1598 and AB 2 and a letter of opposition to AB 1673. It also voted 4-3 to oppose Senate Bill 423, which would modify and eliminate the sunset clause from SB35. Yes: Burt, Kou, Lauing, Stone Yes: Lythcott-Haims, Tanaka, Veenker
