City Council (Nov. 7)

Retail: The council heard a presentation from the consultant Streetsense about local and national retail trends. Action: None

Zoning: The council extended for 18 months an existing interim ordinance that modifies rules pertaining to conditional-use permits for certain types of businesses in downtown and on California Avenue. Yes: Burt, DuBois, Filseth, Kou, Stone No: Cormack, Tanaka

Values: The council adopted a values statement that, among other things, pledges a commitment to equity, respect for the environment and a desire to create a safe, healthy and welcoming community., Yes: Burt, Cormack, DuBois, Filseth, Kou, Stone No: Tanaka
