A round-up of Palo Alto government action this week

City Council (Jan. 10)

Ventura: The council discussed the North Ventura Coordinated Area Plan and supported a concept that would bring about 670 housing units to the area while reducing commercial development.

Yes: Burt, DuBois, Filseth, Kou, Stone No: Cormack, Tanaka

Finances: The council approved the long-range financial forecast for 2023-2031.

Planning and Transportation Commission (Jan. 12)

Housing: The commission discussed the proposed strategies that would be included in the city's new Housing Element, including upzoning in commercial areas.
