Despite record numbers, tide could turn anytime in coming months

The first weekend after the Labor Day holiday on Sept. 6 marked the official kickoff of the fall real estate market. September through October is traditionally the second-most active period for buying and selling residential homes following the February-to-May spring season. Due to strong home sales prices during the first half of this year, the fall season saw the market ramp up early.
