A preview of Palo Alto government meetings for the week of Sept. 25.

CITY COUNCIL… The council has no meetings scheduled this week.

BOARD OF EDUCATION… The school board will discuss the process for searching for a new superintendent; a March 8, 2017 Office for Civil Rights’ letter of findings; accepting a $75,000 donation to Palo Alto High School; and a new policy on involuntary student transfers; as well as take action on a 2017-18 budget update, a request for proposals (RFP) for the joint master planning of Cubberley Community Center, the contract for a new assistant superintendent, contractual raises for the superintendent that were not properly approved in 2015 and 2016, among other items. PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION … The commission plans to approve a park-improvement ordinance for the new Junior Museum and Zoo, for the Baylands Boardwalk and for the Highway 101 overpass. The commission also will discuss allowing public access to the 7.7-acre site that was recently added to Foothills Park; and consider a funding plan for the Parks, Trails, Natural Open Space and Recreation Master Plan.
