District devotes additional funding for smaller classes

by Elena Kadvany

In recent months, the district has devoted additional funding to lower secondary class sizes for the new school year. In May, the school board unanimously approved $1.8 million to hire an additional 12 teachers — six for the middle schools and and six for the high schools — over the next two years. This was on top of seven new middle school teachers and three high school teachers already included in the 2016-17 budget.

@411 thank you. That information was not there earlier today.

Do you know the source of this article below. At the time I am writing this, there is no writer or source. It is strange that 2 short, few paragraph articles are appearing without sources around the same time period. Both say they are cover stories, and both only quote school District staff. Perhaps they are "orphan articles", detached from their main story? Asked the Editor but did not receive a reply.
