CIVIL RIGHTS FOOT SOLDIER ... Hear the story of civil-rights foot soldier James Armstrong, 85, the proprietor of Armstrong's Barbershop in Birmingham, Ala., where hair was cut, civil rights marches organized and battle scars iced. Armstrong's story is told in the Oscar-nominated film "Barber of Birmingham" to be shown Monday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at Avenidas, 450 Bryant Street. Free and open to the public.
