Paralyzed Palo Alto man to take on 100-mile bike ride

by Sue Dremann

Lawrence Viariseo has survived falling off a 100-foot cliff and breaking his back, paralysis from the waist down and bladder cancer. At 53, the Palo Alto native is voluntarily embarking on another challenge — a 100-mile bike trip to raise money for cancer research.

This is wonderful. I have loved Lawrence for years - so, how do we help him to raise money?

I grew up in South Palo Alto as a best friend to Larry's sister Janice. My heart is broken that such a wonderful human being has lost his fight. It's especially hard for those of us who have ourselves received the dreaded news that we have "cancer." I will comfort his sister and believe he is now an angel.
