Environmental artist finds her inspiration in 'wonderful horrible' plastic

In the latest work of outdoor art presented by the Palo Alto Art Center, orbs the size of car tires are scattered across a lawn. They're composed of strips of plastic wound round and round, creating a carnival of colors against the winter-faded grass.
