GREEN SALE ... Custom greens arrangements designed by Gamble Garden experts, will be sold on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at Gamble Garden, 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. Arrangements — made from cedar, cypress, fir, holly, pine, juniper, spruce, magnolia, dried flowers, berries, cones and pods — are made on site in a container provided or purchased that day. Arrangements, which can be pre-ordered and picked up on Dec. 10, are $25 for small, $35 for medium or $45 for large. In addition, holiday greens, plants and wreaths will be available. TREE WALK ... Arborist Kevin Raftery will lead a tree walk through the Greenmeadow neighborhood on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. On the walk, he'll talk about tree selection, care of trees and identification. The walk, which is co-sponsored by Canopy and Amanda Martin with State Farm Insurance, will begin at the Greenmeadow Community Center, 303 Parkside Drive, Palo Alto. ECO BOXES, WRAP ... Dorothy Yuki and Monica Lee will offer a workshop on "Eco boxes, tags and wrap" on Sunday, Dec. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the FabMo Workshop Annex, 2423 Old Middlefield Way, Mountain View. The workshop will show how to use FabMo wallpaper and fabric, as well as old books, junk mail and magazines — even coffee filters — to make eco-friendly gift wrap. Cost is $30. MAKE A WREATH ... Master gardeners Millie Wright and Rosalie Shepherd will teach a class on "Making a Natural Holiday Wreath" on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 219 at Avenidas, 450 Bryant St., Palo Alto. Basic materials, such as greenery found in gardens and parks, will be provided; participants may bring other greenery, lights or ornaments to incorporate. Cost is $10 for nonmembers, $8 for members. GOT AN EXTRA WARM COAT? ... Local Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices (including two in Palo Alto, at 245 Lytton Ave., Suite 100; and 2745 Middlefield Road) are collecting gently used winter items — coats, sweaters, jackets, sweatshirts, hats, mittens, towels and blankets — for the annual "Operation: One Warm Coat" campaign. The warm items will be collected through Dec. 16, then distributed through local organizations.
