The real deal

After 62 years, Kirk's is still serving up great burgers with a no-frills attitude

by Dale F. Bentson

Kirk's Steakburgers is a quasi-fast-food haven smack dab in the middle of Town & Country Village's tony new eateries. It's old style, cool style, without constructing a make-believe Happy Days vignette to entice the public.

Although I agree with your enthusiasm for the burgers at Kirk's, the reference to the availability of beer and wine is somewhat misleading. The beer choices are very satisfactory, but the red wine is dreadful and is served ice cold. There are many very enjoyable cheap red wines sold in this area, and I do not understand why Kirk's cannot do better in their offering.
