How Peninsula cities have protested the rail plans

ATHERTON: Sued the California High-Speed Rail Authority in 2008, prompting the agency to de-certify and revise its Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR). Council voted unanimously this week to join new suit against the rail authority, claiming the revised EIR failed to address the city's comments. Wrote a letter to the Federal Railroad Administration urging the agency "not to provide any federal money to the California high-speed rail project at this time."
