PLANT PROBLEMS? ... UC Master Gardeners are offering a free, walk-in Summer Plant Clinic on Saturday, Aug. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Gamble Garden, 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. Master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions about anything from soil and watering to pests and plant nutrition. Ideas about creating healthy roses or tomatoes will also be offered. TREE WALK ... An arborist will lead a free tree walk through the Crescent Park neighborhood on Saturday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon. Register at www.canopy.org or by emailing sharon@canopy.org.

STRETCH AND PLANT ... Patricia Becker, manager of Common Ground Organic Garden Supply and Education Center in Palo Alto, will teach a class on "Yoga for Gardeners" on Sunday, Aug. 15, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Avalon Art and Yoga Studio, 370 S. California Ave., Palo Alto. Beginners and experienced yogis are welcome to learn how to care for back and body, with the best poses for gardeners. HAPPY CACTI ... Mimi Clarke will teach a class on "Succulent Success" on Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Filoli, 86 Canada Road, Woodside. Focus is on care and propagation, as well as how to incorporate them into your landscape. Fee, which is $65 for nonmembers, $50 for members, includes cuttings and/or plants to take home. DO IT YOURSELF ... Twana Karney, Green@Home program director, will offer a Green Dream Team Panel presentation on "Do It Yourself from Acterra Green@Home" on Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 5 p.m. at Kepler's Books, 1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park. The first 20 participants will receive a free low-flow showerhead and an 80-point checklist for completing a do-it-yourself assessment.
