I like the idea. It could work. It was proposed in Chicago as a Central Area Circulator back in 1991 but in the end the project was scrubbed.

This time it could work here on the peninsula. the one factor that has to be considered is the relocation of utlities. Those underground wires, pipes, cables that make things go in the area could be a pain to work with and could spike the costs up.

The public would go for it if those questions about cost where addressed.

The more innovative ideas put on the table for discussion, the better. Somewhere there is a real good solution, and we have to find it. We need all these ideas and then the true experts need to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Making Caltrain into a subway here is a very good idea. One week of the Iraq war would pay for it.
