Artist's Statement

The photo on view was taken at Moffett Field, California. I received my AA in photography with an emphasis in digital imaging this Spring at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. I am 34 years old and a native of Palo Alto, California who has always had a fascination with night photography and more recently the depiction of movement through the use of slower shutter speeds. I do street photography mainly. The story goes, that on a field trip to capture night photos in early March, ominous rain clouds were overhead as the group waited outside the front gate. It began to rain heavily the moment we passed through the main entrance. It was however a short rain, the clouds departed and we commenced our night photography excursion. Much like the short rain which lasted only briefly, I had very little time to capture the image and had to think quick as I saw a good photograph developing, and being already set up with tripod and a suitable location all I had to do was make sure the settings on the a camera were correct. The result is something I'm proud of.
