"Pisco"

About Andrew Cho

Andrew Cho captured his prize-winner during a moment of exhaustion.

Cho was descending Pisco, an 18,871-foot glaciated mountain in Peru, when he took the picture of his mountain guide resting in the distance. He has started the ascent at midnight and summated at 8:30 a.m.

Although the 29-year-old considers surfing his main passion and hobby, he has been interested in photography since his teenage years. He has never taken a class, but grew up with an old manual Nikon camera, which his brother and father taught him to use. Now, however, he prefers digital cameras.

"I can see the photos immediately, and I can adjust," he said. "I take more pictures because it doesn't cost anything."

Cho grew up in Palo Alto and graduated from Paly. He currently practices law.
