15th Annual Palo Alto Weekly Photo Contest
"Lord of the 'Menlo Park' Flies " About Chris Holmes
The 49-year-old Menlo Park resident was enjoying a summer day in his garden with his wife and three sons when he took this picture, of his middle son Jamie. The shallow depth of field, the green and red paint on the boy's face and his wet hair produced a vivid portrait of the naked 5-year-old. "It's a great expression of the wonderful madness of bringing up three young boys," the photographer said. Holmes, the vice president of corporate affairs for Mindjet Corporation, has been taking pictures for more than a decade. Last year, he won first place in the "Views Beyond the Peninsula" category of the Weekly's photo contest, for a picture he took of a mother kissing her son in Bucerias, Mexico. |
