11th Annual Palo Alto Weekly Photo Contest
Honorable Mention, Peninsula Images
"Art and Sky"
By Inge Infante
About Inge Infante
Inga Infante could not take her eyes off an art exhibit she saw
a few years ago in front of City Hall. And no wonder: the exhibit
was a giant shirt made of wire that stood more than 10 feet tall.
Infante walked around the sculpture until she found "a nice
angle for a picture." The angle came naturally enough: looking
up to the sky, she was fascinated by the image the shirt collar
made against the blue backdrop.
"It looked very abstract," she said. She also enjoyed
having to photograph it against the sky.
A collage artist and a native of Germany who moved to Palo Alto
in 1980, Infante first learned about the camera from her photographer
father.
"I like seeing things from a different angle," she said. Particularly for art objects, "things become abstract depending on which angle you look at it."
