Oakley Hewitt
Feb. 16, 1937-Nov. 6, 2021
San Mateo, California
From Diane DeLuca

I have warm memories of my time with Doctor Hewitt, exactly 40 years ago, when he treated me for a broken wrist. It was my good fortune that he was "on call" at the Clinic on a Super Bowl Sunday, when I had my fall. The fracture was quite complicated, and I have always given Doctor Hewitt the credit for returning me to the full use of my wrist. So sorry to learn that he suffered with Alzheimer's; may he R.I.P.

Oakley Hewitt was a caring and thoughful orthopedist who practiced in Palo Alto for many ears at "The Clinic". He was the go-to orthopedist for a caring and rational approach to nearly any orthopedic problem. He is missed.

I had the great pleasure to work with Dr. Hewitt. Oakley was compassionate about medicine and shared great empathy with his patients. He was a great physician and a great person. He will be missed by our community.
