Willis (known as UpC) passed away peacefully in her home on October 1, 2018 aftrer a year-long battle with lung cancer. Originally from Excelsior, MN, UpC moved to Menlo Park in 1954 after completing nursing school at St. Catherine University in Minneapolis. UpC was an emergency room nurse at Stanford hospital when she met Stan Scott in Menlo Park in 1958. They were married in 1960 and enjoyed a full and active life with regular adventures to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada for skiing and backpacking and many days sailing on the San Francisco Bay. UpC raised four boys and was proud as a peacock of each of them. As the boys grew, she continued to work as a nurse at Hewlett Packard. She was an active volunteer her entire adult life, most recently with the Peninsula Volunteers where she continued to serve Thanksgiving dinner at the Rosener house until 2016. UpC leaves behind her beloved husband Stan and sons Jonathan, Kevin, Thomas, Brennan, their spouses, and 10 grandchildren. UpC was a person of great faith for her entire life, attending Catholic school through college and mass regularly at Saint Raymond. The family will have a private church service in the coming days followed by a Celebration of Life in November.
