Submitted by Brenda Walz

Mary Margaret Walz (Marge), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away from the Coronavirus on July 16. She grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania but managed to have big dreams. She met her husband and love of her life, Dan, while visiting her brother in the Navy. They were married in Lincoln Nebraska. They lived there for five years before moving to California. Marge and Dan were married for 59 years and had two children, Bryan and Brenda. She was a great stay at home Mom but decided she wanted to go to college. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with an BA in English and Speech Communications and then earned her graduate degree in Speech Communications. Marge went on to work at Menlo Atherton High School in the Deans office. She enjoyed helping and mentoring the students. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother. Marge is survived by her husband Dan, her son Bryan, her daughter Brenda with her husband Jim, and her three grandchildren: Aleah, Shane, and Sienna.

I knew Marge during the many years I taught at Menlo-Atherton. I'm grateful for her down-to-earth attitude and kindness over so many years. I'm so sorry for your loss.
