Kenneth Whyburn passed away unexpectedly on June 19th while visiting his childhood home in Charlottesville, VA.

Ken was born in Charlottesville to Gordon and Lucille Whyburn. He graduated with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Virginia and received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Cornell University and his JD from Stanford University. Ken specialized in tax law and was a partner at Orrick, Herrington, Sutcliffe. He was an avid reader and enjoyed backpacking and tennis.

Ken is survived by his wife, Claire, and sons, Gordon and Ian.
