A preview of Palo Alto government meetings for the week of Nov. 18.

CITY COUNCIL … The council plans to meet in a closed session to discuss a lawsuit against the city from Gustavo Alvarez. The council will then discuss a proposed partnership with Santa Clara Valley Water District and the city of Mountain View to expand usage of recycled water; approve a construction contract for the U.S. Highway 101 overpass; and consider an urgency ordinance to protect tenants from evictions without just cause. COUNCIL FINANCE COMMITTEE … The committee plans to review an audit of the city’s finances and approve the fiscal year 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). BOARD OF EDUCATION … The school board will vote on contracts with its employee unions; hear reports on the district’s first interim budget, dyslexia and parcel tax polling results; and discuss an update on Measure Z construction, among other items. PUBLIC ART COMMISSION … The commission plans to discuss temporary artwork for King Plaza and head an update about the artist selection process for Code:ART2.
