ENERGY EFFICIENCY CODE CHANGES … If you’re planning a remodel in Palo Alto, learn about some proposed changes to the city’s energy efficiency requirements. The City of Palo Alto Planning and Development Services Department is holding two meetings, Thursday, Aug. 1, 6-7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 10, 10-11 a.m., to discuss proposed changes to the city’s energy “reach” code, which determines energy efficiency requirements in new construction and renovation projects. The meeting will cover how the updated energy code will comply with and, in some cases, surpass new state requirements. Both meetings will take place at the Mitchell Park Community Center, El Palo Alto Room, 3700 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. For the Aug. 1 meeting, register here. For the Aug. 10 meeting, register here. For more information, call 650-329-2179 or email greenbuilding@cityofpaloalto.org.
