Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will fly helicopters to improve high-voltage electric transmission towers in East Palo Alto starting Monday Nov. 14. The work is taking place above the Bay Trail and the East Palo Alto marshlands.

PG&E crews using helicopters will transport materials and electric technicians to and from towers. The work is not expected to affect traffic nor cause road closures, according to a PG&E announcement, but the company urged drivers and passersby to stay safe and not become distracted.

Using helicopters helps reduce the number of heavy trucks and equipment and lessens environmental impacts, the company said. The work is not expected to affect electric service.

The helicopter work will take place from Nov. 14 to Wednesday, Nov. 23, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from Monday, Dec. 5 to Thursday, Dec. 15, during the same hours, PG&E said.

Last time I looked at the map “east” Palo Alto was geographically “North” of Palo Alto. And Yes, noise pollution from the PAO is ridiculous, especially on Saturday mornings.
