Erik Emanuelsson scored five goals and the Menlo College men’s soccer team bounced back from an overtime loss in extraordinary fashion Wednesday, beating visiting Pacific Union, 12-0, in nonconference action.

Four others also scored for the Oaks: midfielder Eli Bunton, midfielder Luis Nunez, defender Alex Avila and Leonardo Barcellos.

Bunton had a hat trick of his own along with one assist.

Menlo scored eight goals in the first half of the dominating performance by the entire Oaks team. Nunez got things started scoring the first goal of the game in the fourth minute of action on an assist by midfielder Stephen Levy.

Pacific Union finished the game with eight healthy players. Menlo dropped down to eight on its side to match the ailing Pioneers.

The Oaks took 39 shots and the defense allowed two shots on goal.

Thus far, Menlo has outscored opponents 26-4.

Menlo College will travels to play Eastern Oregon at Oregon Tech on Sunday.
