Menlo-Atherton High grad Robert Mitchell, an assistant athletic trainer, has worked and volunteered his time for many years helping Stanford athletics rise to new heights.
He is always willing to do whatever work is necessary in order for the athletes he helps to perform to the best of their abilities.
At a young age, Robert was in a car accident that left him mentally and physically disabled. Despite this, Robert has overcome many obstacles, including going to school, working towards a degree, as well as trying to inspire all the athletes, and other disabled persons, that he comes into contact with.
“Over the years, I have seen Robert work not only for Stanford but also for the SF 49ers,” Stanford grad John Paye wrote on his Facebook. “It should be noted that both Jim Harbaugh and David Shaw were adamant that they wanted Robert involved in their football programs.”
Unfortunately, Robert Mitchell is unable to stay at Stanford any longer and will be moving to Tennessee to live with his family.
“Robert Mitchell and I came from M-A to The Farm together,” wrote M-A and Stanford grad Greg Camarillo. “Love that guy! Hardest worker around.”
