Three thieves who stole five high-end purses in a lunchtime caper from the Neiman Marcus department store in Palo Alto got away with more than $26,000 in merchandise, Palo Alto police said.

Three people grabbed the purses on May 31 at about 12:24 p.m. and ran out of the department store at Stanford Shopping Center on El Camino Real, employees told police. The brand of the purses stolen was not available, police Sgt. David Lee said. The purses are valued at $26,300, he said.

Police are looking for the three suspects, who are described only as two black adult males and a black adult female. Witnesses or persons with information regarding this crime are asked to call the Palo Alto Police Department at 650-329-2413.
