East Palo Alto’s Ecumenical Hunger Program (EHP) is asking for immediate donations of toys and gifts because supplies are desperately low, according to the agency’s resource coordinator.
Charlotte Brown, a spokesperson for the nonprofit, said this year’s need is far greater than usual and, to compound the issue, donations are down as well.
The program provides food and services to low-income and homeless people in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park and the surrounding areas.
Brown said they are most in need of gifts for children and teenagers from 8 to 18 years of age. She said gift cards of $15 to $25 are especially helpful.
Families who have pre-registered with EHP are picking up holiday bags of food and then will visit the agency’s gift distribution area.
Donations can be dropped off at 2411 Pulgas Ave. in East Palo Alto or can be made online at ehpcares.org. EHP is open for donations 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday, and 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday.

They are a fraud, they only give out to people they like first then they give the rest of the stuff no one wants to everyone else.
They use to be very good but now they make people feel very uncomfortable.
Could somebody else weigh in regarding Kim’s comment. I would like to know if this org does indeed have problems.

As former recipent of the Goodness of EHP, now a donor, I am not sure if what you state is true. We may get caught of in the material things that they provide, but misunderstand the kindness they are bringing. This location just like others strive and survive off generous donations. That is not to say that those donations are millions of dollars and that everyone who needs will get something brand new. With that being said, the gift of giving comes from the heart. It is not material things rather new or used that is the gift, so I say to you if you feel as though EHP is a fraud. Then just maybe you can go lend a helping hand, to sort through some of the items there and then just maybe you can be a gift to someone who feels like you do and make a positive change. My last thought is this while I was a recipent of the generousIty of EHP, I am now a donor, that organization helped prepare me for life and today I can say I am a successful woman, Not successful with tons of money, but with a heart of giving, I will continue to support this organization as much as possible through my giving.
