Stanford junior Stephanie Amack was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week in women’s soccer, as announced by the conference Tuesday.

Amack played every minute at defense in two shutout victories for Stanford against Oregon State and Oregon. She helped the Cardinal limit Oregon State and Oregon to five shots or fewer in each game and did not permit a corner kick for either team.

Amack was dangerous offensively, as well, making regular runs up the right sideline and sending in crosses to create opportunities. Her hard work was rewarded against Oregon State when she scored Stanford’s third goal with a rocket left-footed shot from 20 yards out to the top-left corner of the goal.

It is the second conference weekly honor of Amack’s career and the 46th overall for Stanford.

Amack and the Cardinal will look to continue its momentum this weekend when Stanford plays host to Colorado on Friday at 5 p.m. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
