Three Stanford lacrosse players and one assistant coach have been invited to the U.S. women’s national team tryouts, from June 12-14 at Johns Hopkins University.
Stanford juniors Andrienne Anderson, Alexandra Crerend, and Lucy Dikeou, plus veteran U.S. national team goalie Liz Hogan, a Cardinal assistant, will be among 108 players taking part in the three-day tryout. Also, Stanford head coach Amy Bokker is an assistant coach for the U.S. team.
Crerend will be among 33 attackers, Dikeou among 38 midfielders, Anderson among 28 defenders, and Hogan among nine goalies. Forty-eight players are current college juniors or younger.
After the tryout, approximately 36-40 players will be selected to the 2015-16 U.S. national team, which will train in the lead-up to the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s World Cup in Guildford, England. Ultimately, 18 players will represent the U.S. as the team goes for a third consecutive and eighth overall world title.

Rising Cardinal senior Graham Shuler has been named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List, as announced Tuesday.
The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in college football.
Shuler, who also was named to the watch list as a junior in 2014, played and started in 13 games last season for the Cardinal. He anchored an offensive line that ranked 18th nationally in tackles for loss allowed (4.62/game) and 42nd in sacks allowed (1.77/game).
Dave Rimington, the award’s namesake, was a consensus first team All-America center at Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy’s only double winner as the nation’s finest college interior lineman.
