Clark Yarbrough, one of the top offensive tackles in the nation according to several scouting services, gave his verbal commitment to Stanford on Tuesday.

The 6-5, 265-pounder from Virginia’s Woodberry Forest High, is one of the most highly-touted offensive tackle prospects in the country and choose Stanford over Florida, Michigan and Oregon, among others.

He made the announcement through his Twitter account.

Men’s wrestling

Menlo College wrestling added another integral piece to its 2015-16 recruiting class last week with the signing of Central Valley High’s (Wash.) Blake Beard.

Beard has a laundry list of accolades to his credit including becoming the first wrestler in Central Valley High history to win three consecutive state championships. He placed fifth as a freshman.

Beard is a four-time all-state selection, a four-time district champion, three-time regional champion, a two-time Rocky Mountain champion, and finished second and third respectively at the Tri-State Championships. He finished his prep career with an impressive 138-9 overall record and was named an honorable mention selection to the Wrestling USA high school team.

Beard competed at 138 pounds during his senior season but is anticipated to wrestle at 133 pounds for the Oaks.
