Stanford forward Kaylee Johnson was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for her performance in the Cardinal’s 82-43 victory over Santa Clara on Sunday evening, the conference announced today.

It’s the second time this season that the Casper, Wyo. native has been selected as the league’s best freshman after a week of games. She also took home the award on Dec. 1 after averaging 11.8 rebounds in four games against New Mexico, North Carolina, Hawaii and Prairie View A&M.

Johnson yet again performed like a seasoned veteran on the glass in Stanford’s win on Sunday night. She pulled down 22 rebounds, including eight on the offensive end, to go along with nine points, two blocks and two steals.

It’s the freshman’s second game of the season with more than 20 rebounds. She also corralled 22 in a road game at New Mexico on Nov. 24. Johnson is the only player in the nation with a pair of 20-rebound games this season and has also already placed herself among some impressive company in Stanford history.

Chiney Ogwumike is the only other Cardinal to have multiple 20-rebound games in a career. The 2014 Stanford graduate had four in four years on The Farm. Johnson is averaging 12.4 rebounds per game this year, tops in the nation among freshmen, and 10th in the NCAA overall.
