Ten local chefs will offer cooking tips at the 28th annual Connoisseur’s Marketplace, the downtown street festival in Menlo Park that will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day along Santa Cruz Avenue, from El Camino Real to Johnson Street.
Santa Cruz Avenue, from El Camino Real to Johnson Street, will be closed from 3 p.m Friday, July 18, until 12:59 p.m. Sunday, July 20. University Drive will be closed at 8 p.m. Friday.
Menlo Park-based chefs who will share their ideas in the Facebook Chefs’ Tent include: Kelsey Casavan of LB Steak, Erik Romme of Menlo Grill Bistro and Bar, Brendy Monsada of Left Bank Brasserie, and Margo True of Sunset magazine.
Ab0ut 250 artists and craft makers will show and sell their works. Among the works: Janet Wright’s sterling silver jewelry, Mike Frazier’s redwood patio furniture, and Andrew Butler’s photography.
Aja Vu, a Steely Dan/Chicago tribute band, will perform on the main stage at the “Twilight Concert” from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 19. Among other bands performing during the festival are the Megatones and the California Blues Machine. Genres range from classic rock and blues to contemporary jazz and party music.
The AutoVino Collector Car Showcase returns to the festival to display automobiles from GT Auto Concepts, organizer of Menlo Park’s Croissants and Cars events. Among the cars on display will be the 1969 Pontiac Firebird, 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, and 1969 Jaguar XKE.
Parking will be available in the parking plazas adjacent to Santa Cruz Avenue, on side streets surrounding the festival area, and at the Caltrain station on Merrill Street. Pets are not allowed at the festival.
