The Silicon Valley Community Foundation announced Wednesday that Erica K. Wood has been named as its new chief community impact officer.
The foundation’s chief community impact officer serves as the head of the philanthropic organization’s community impact division and manages its community initiatives, grant-making strategies and research efforts.
Wood previously served as senior vice president and vice president of community leadership and grant-making at the foundation. In this role, Wood was responsible for managing SVCF’s venture fund projects, community initiatives and research efforts, according to a foundation spokeswoman.
Wood joined the foundation in 2007 when it merged with the Peninsula Community Foundation, for which she served as executive director of the Peninsula Partnership for Children, Youth and Families. Prior to working at the Peninsula Community Foundation, Wood served as Applied Survey Research’s director of research and evaluation.
SVCF also announced July 16 that Eleanor Clement Glass has been named as special advisor to the president on public policy initiatives and Manuel Santamaria as the new vice president of strategic initiatives and grant-making. Clement Glass will lead the foundation’s immigration and payday lending advocation efforts and represent the foundation in President Barack Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative. Santamaria will manage foundation initiatives and grant-making strategies and operations.
“Silicon Valley Community Foundation is thankful to have these longtime staff members moving into these roles,” SVCF chief executive officer and president Emmett D. Carson said in a statement. “This continuity of ideas and leadership will keep us moving forward to address our communities’ most pressing problems.”
SVCF manages more than $4.7 billion in assets. Foundation representatives say that the organization’s donors contribute more funds to charities than those of any other community foundation across the country.
