East Palo Alto police are still trying to determine a motive in a Tuesday evening shooting that left three city residents suffering from gunshot wounds, a police officer said today.
Officer Veronica Barries said police are on the lookout for a gray, gold or silver Toyota Corolla that might have been the getaway vehicle in the shooting, which took place just after 8 p.m. in the 1000 block of Myrtle Street, near Pulgas Avenue.
The three victims, one a juvenile, all suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The victims are cooperating with police at this point, Barries said.
A caller reported hearing gunshots at 8:09 p.m., Barries said. Police are still contemplating a motive and whether the incident will be considered gang-related.
“We’re still investigating at this point, we’re in the preliminary stages and we’re not ruling anything out yet,” Barries said.
