Ruth Beahrs Spangenberg, 92, co-founder of the Committee for Green Foothills and a longtime contributor to the Palo Alto school system, died Oct. 30. “We’re all here to help each other. 1. Ruth had such enthusiasm & a real interest in other people and in their well-being. I remember her consideration for others most, even in small ways that mattered. But she was almost bigger than life, even in her capacity to be friendly and welcoming of everyone. Her passing is a loss to the community. That there will be more women like Ruth in Palo Alto, to follow her lead.
