Two more mountain lions were spotted in Woodside, one at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday (April 27) near Woodside and Whiskey Hill roads, and another around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday (April 26) near the 100 block of Otis Avenue.

With the Otis Avenue sighting, residents in the immediate area were advised to “shelter in place” until further notice. About 45 minutes later, county emergency officials sent out an advisory that the cat “was allowed by members of the State Fish and Game Department to return to its habitat.”

The county office of emergency services recommends that residents keep a close watch on small children and avoid hiking or jogging at dawn, dusk or night, when mountain lions are most active.
