Julian Harris scored 25 points, Nick McCullar had 19 points and 11 rebounds but the Menlo College men’s basketball team dropped a wild 94-81 decision to visiting Holy Names in the semifinals of the Cal Pac Conference tournament Friday.
Dejon Grant added 17 points for the Oaks (14-13), who had a five-game winning streak snapped. Tim Tatum had a game-high 12 rebounds.
Holy Names (19-13) shot over 58 percent from the field in the second half and 54.7 percent overall in reaching the conference championship game against Cal State Maritime.
The Hawks were 28-of-38 from the foul line and 8-of-17 from 3-point range in a contest that featured 48 fouls, including three technical fouls.
David Scott, the conference’s leading scorer, led Holy Names with 27 points, which included a 17-of-20 effort from the foul line.
The Hawks beat Menlo, which had won 10 of its previous 11 games, for the second time in three meetings on the season.
The Oaks enjoyed their best season since qualifying for the national tournament in 2008.
