■ Community: Baylands meetings

The League of Women Voters of Palo Alto is hosting two free informational meetings on the Baylands this month. The first, an overview of the Baylands including its history and today’s issues, is set for tonight (Feb. 22) from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Friendship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 1140 Cowper St., Palo Alto. The second is set for 7 p.m. March 22 at the Lucie Stern Community Center, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. ■ Gardens: ‘Making Every Drop Count’

Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County are hosting a free talk tonight (Feb. 22) from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the pros and cons of different irrigation systems, and the water needs of various fruit trees, vegetables and plants.
