Julian Harris scored with eight seconds remaining to play to tie the game but host Holy Names came back to beat Menlo, 86-84, on a last-second shot in a Cal Pac Conference contest Saturday night.

Harris finished with 10 points for the Oaks (5-2, 9-12), who fell out of a first-place tie in the conference. Menlo has a chance to regain a share of the lead when Cal Pac leader Cal Maritime visits the Oaks on Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.

Drew Davis scored nine of his team-high 23 points in the final three minutes.

Women’s basketball

Menlo outscored the host Hawks, 18-3, over the final 5:49 of Saturday’s Cal Pac Conference contest, but the rally fell and Holy Names completed a 72-57 victory to move two games up on the Oaks in the conference standings.

Stephanie Truong scored 14 of her team-high 23 points during the rally for Menlo (5-2, 13-10), which had a six-game winning streak snapped.

The Oaks host Cal Maritime at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Women’s wrestling

Menlo’s Brittany Caoile pinned Missouri Valley’s Venus Barron in 1:38 to capture third place in the 80 kg division of the Women’s College Wrestling Association Championships, hosted by Menlo.

Sherylyn Sabado finished fourth after losing, 2-1, to Oklahoma City’s Kristi Garr in the 48 kg division as the Oaks finished eighth as a team.

Oklahoma City scored 117 points to win its third consecutive national title.
