The two-car crash on Page Mill Road in Palo Alto last Thursday that killed one person and resulted in major injuries to three others is still under investigation and no arrests have been made, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A black BMW sedan driving westbound near Deer Creek Road veered into the eastbound lanes and crashed into a silver 1996 Acura at about 1:40 p.m.

The force of the crash rolled the BMW and it came to rest on its side.

A passenger in the BMW, David Guerrero, 36, of Milpitas, died at the scene.

The driver of the BMW, a 36-year-old San Francisco woman, suffered major injuries, as did a second BMW passenger, a 44-year-old San Jose man. A third passenger, a 38-year-old Pacifica man, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Acura, a 26-year-old Portola Valley woman, also suffered major injuries.

The identities of the injured have not been released and there is no update on the extent of injuries or their conditions. All were taken to Stanford Medical Center.

Several Palo Alto fire engines and Palo Alto police units responded to the crash, and Page Mill Road was shut down west of Foothill Expressway as crews cleaned up the crash.

All five occupants of the two cars were wearing seat belts.
